The name Moonstone comes from the pearly moon-like luster of this stone. It was also known as the Ceylon Opal, due to its abundance in this area. It falls under the astrological sign of Cancer.

According to ancient wisdom, some metaphysical properties associated with Moonstone are: It grows under the rays of the moon and absorbs an energy that infuses the moonstone with unusual occult and magical properties. These metaphysical properties are said never to leave the stone, once infused.

During the waxing of the moon (from new to full), moonstone aids in love afairs and marriage, bringing good luck and harmony to these relationships.

During the waning of the moon (from full to new), the stone aids in prophesy. To better aid in spiritual guidance and second sight, hold the moonstone in the mouth* during the waning moon, and ask for assistance from the angel Gabriel (angel of the moon).

Wear Moonstone to protect one while traveling on water, as a charm against cancer, or as protection against lunacy. It is also said to provide good luck while traveling, in general. Tumbled Moonstone Details:
These pieces of Moonstone will vary in size, somewhat. They can be as small as 1/2", to well over 1" in length. Some may be thin, some may be thick. Notice the nickel in the center of the photo. This should give you a good idea of the range in size of the Moonstones. The color can vary, as well, from an almost smoke color to near pink. It just depends on nature (and our current supply).

Moonstone is a wonderful gift to give anyone who wants to turn over a new leaf, wants to enhance second sight, or bring harmony to a love relationship.
