A Little About Tiger Balm Red
More than 20 million jars are sold each year in 70 countries worldwide, because Tiger Balm works where it hurts.  A fantastic ointment, Tiger Balm red is good for so many things and it comes in a great little tin! The soothing ointment is used externally only, for many aches and pains including headaches, arthritis, muscle strains, backache, etc. It is even used to relieve the itching caused by mosquito bites.  As with all medicines, always read the label before applying.

Over 100 years ago, Tiger Balm was derived from an ointment that was originally made for Chinese emperors. The emperors used a soothing herbal balm for their various aches and pains. All natural, Chinese herbalists and healers also used it for their patients as an pain relieving rub.

A Chinese herbalist, Aw Chu Kin, studied the various balms and remedies, and discovered that blending various active ingredients, such as camphor, clove and menthol, really brought relief to people's aches and pains. After his death, his son, Aw Boon Haw, lent his name (meaning Tiger) to the remedy and began to market the ointment as Tiger Balm. The tiger is associated with strength and vitality in the East, so it seemed an obvious choice for such a pain reliever.

Tiger Balm is a pain relieving ointment, great for sore muscles from over-exertion. Use it as a sports rub. Got arthritis pain? Tiger Balm is quite an effective ointment, providing relief from symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism. Have a headache? Try rubbing a little Tiger Balm on your temples for quick pain relief. Many people rub Tiger balm on the chest area when they have colds, as it contains about 10% menthol. Be careful though and always test a little first, as some people will have allergic reactions to Tiger Balm.

This is a 4 gram tin of Tiger Balm Red. This is the Extra Strength pain relieving ointment. The tin comes carded. The card measures about 3 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" wide. The Tiger Balm tin is only about 1" across and about 1/2" thick. It has a tiger on the top, with Chinese characters and the words Tiger Balm.  Tiger Balm is known the world over for its soothing action that relieves muscular aches and pains. Tiger balm red is the Extra Strength version, with with a comforting aroma of cinnamon oil.
