In magic, Saltpeter is used in protection, love, and money spells. Once upon a time, women fed salt peter to their mate to keep them from wandering. This is NOT suggested for health safety reasons, noted above. For protection a pinch is placed at the 4 corners of the home. The same can be done to keep the mate home, but we do not recommend it, for ethical reasons. Your mileage may vary.

A Protection Bath:
Boil approximately 1 quart of water. Add 1/2 cup epsom salts, 1/4 cup sea salt, and 1 to 2 tablespoon salt peter to the water, stir well, then remove from heat. Place 1/2 to 1 cup rosemary in a mill cloth bag or cheese cloth and add to the hot water. Stir all. Allow to steep in the water for about 15-20 minutes. Stir once more. Then pour the herbal water into your bath water, for a protection bath. Picture the protective energy of the herbs and salts protecting your body and aura from all negativity.
Check the water temperature, before entering the tub!
