The Meaning of the Pentacle Star, or Pentagram
Also known a pentagram, the pentacle is a symbol of a star encased in a circle.  Always with 5 points (one pointing upward), each has its own meaning. The upward point of the pentacle star is representative of the spirit. The other four points all represent an element; earth, air, fire, and water. All these things contribute to life and are a part of each of us. All the elements and the spirit are within the circle to symbolize that everything is connected.

The Wiccan pentacle is also a positive symbol of protection. The pentagram has long been believed to be a potent protection against evil, and may be worn to shield the wearer, or hung in the house to shield the home.

The Meaning Of The Celtic Knot
Also spelled Keltic, the Celtic knot is "any of eight decorative knots with alternating over-and-under construction, originating in pre-Christian times and found in manuscripts and on monuments"*.
A never ending knot, symbolizing the never ending eternal circle of life - the Celtic knotwork has neither a beginning nor an end and so is often associated with protection and love, as well as life. Some people will use the Celtic knot to protect themselves or their homes from negative energies.

Purple Pentacle Knot Tapestry Details:
This tapestry pattern is a pentacle star, woven in the Wiccan style. The star is the center of  the tapestry, enclosed in a circle. There are 4 Celtic knots, one at each corner, and a wonderful Celtic knot pattern as a border around the entire tapestry!

Our Purple Pentacle tapestries are 72" x 108" (6 ft x 9 ft) before hemming and washing. The finished size is about: 70"x 106". The Wiccan pentagram tapestry is black, on a purple background. The tapestries are hand loomed, made in India, of 100% cotton. Hand wash, in cold water.

PLEASE NOTE: Made in India, the size or color of the Celtic Pentagram tapestry can vary, ever so slightly from piece to piece. The sizes are fairly consistent but could vary just an inch or two. Therefore, they could be 1-2" smaller but they cannot be larger. Because the tapestry is hand loomed and block printed, some slight variations of weaving or printing should be expected.
