We want your shopping experience to be as fun as possible and stress free. Below, is information to assist you with many questions that you might have about our free memberships, signing on, newsletters, etc. If you have other questions, please visit our Customer Service Information page, to view answers to our frequently asked questions.

About Free Memberships

There are two typed of membership, at Grandpa's. Shopping and Community.
Shopping Membership - A shopping membership account is where your address information is stored, for placing orders, but it is so much more! This membership is what we are addressing in this FAQ.
Community Membership - A community membership allows you to post to our forums and participate in our community. For more information on community, please visit the community section, at the top of your screen.

 

Shopping Membership Benefits

  • Your address information is automatically filled in, when you go to checkout. Less mistakes this way!
  • You get your own private address book, to store addresses of family, friends, and alternate delivery addresses (like your work or school).
  • You get your own permanent shopping cart.  When you are signed on, it will remember what you placed inside, from one visit to the next, until you checkout or remove them!
  • You can view your order history and status, online, 24 hours a day! There is also a print facility to print out past orders.
  • You get a personal wish list that can hold items you might want to buy later, without placing them in your shopping cart. You can also send your wish list to family and friends!
  • You can sign up for, or unsubscribe from, newsletters, store coupons, product notifications, and sales notices!
  • You can write product reviews and share your opinion, about any product on our web site, with other shoppers!
  • You can get special perks, like free gifts and Customer Loyalty Discounts, just for members only!
  • The best part is membership is absolutely FREE!

 

 

How To Become A Member

  1. On any page, click on the link at the top that says "my account". This will take you to a page where you can sign in, or create an account. Then, click on the "create account" button.
  2. This will take you to our secure server, where all information is protected against prying eyes.  Just fill in the information and choose a password (6 or more characters)!
    Hint: Be sure to keep your email address and password together, for the next time you need to sign on..

We will send you an email confirmation message with membership details, right away!

 

Some Answers To Common Membership Questions

To Sign On:
At the top of nearly every page (in the shopping area of the web site) is a link that says "my account". Just click on that link to go to the login page. Enter your email, password, and click "sign in".  Please Note: Community memberships are not transferable to shopping memberships and vice versa. You will need to create a membership in each, to participate in both areas.

 

Problems Finding The My Account Link
If the "my account" link is not visible, make sure you are in the shopping area, by clicking on "Shop", on the horizontal purple menu near the top of the page. The link should now be visible.
If "my account" is still not visible, try closing ALL browser windows and starting over. There may have been a browser error. Closing all browser windows and starting fresh is the only solution.

 

Newsletter Subscriptions
You may subscribe to our newsletter by visiting this page. You may also subscribe or unsubscribe through your "my account" center. Just click on "Subscribe or unsubscribe from newsletters". Membership is not required for newsletter subscriptions. However, membership is free and there are so many other benefits!

 

My Order History Does Not Show All My Orders!
If you chose to use "express checkout", those orders will not show in your order history. When you choose "express checkout", your membership is NOT signed on, so nothing is recorded to your membership account.
If you need a copy of an order, just let us know and we can send one to the email address you gave for "express checkout" on that order. If you prefer to have this information available, online, be sure to sign on, rather than use "express checkout". (Besides, it isn't any faster. It just allows "one time" shoppers to make a purchase without creating an account.)

 

How Do I Write A Review?
First, you must sign on. Then, just visit any product page you are interested in and click on the reviews button. You will then see a "write a review" link. Just tell us what you think and press "continue", to submit your review!

 

How Do I Sign Up To Get A Product Notice?
First, you must sign on. Then visit any product page you are interested in. On the left side will be a "Notices" box. You can tell at a glance whether, or not, you are getting notices on a product by the message in the "notices" box.

If you are not subscribed for this product, the box will say "Please, notify me of updates to" the item you are viewing. If you are currently subscribed, it will say: "Do not notify me of updates to" the item you are viewing. Just click (once) on that box to subscribe or unsubscribe.
You can also view all your product notifications and unsubscribe to any, or all, from inside your "my account" center.

 

How Do I Change My Address Information?
First, sign onto your account. Then, click on "view or change entries in my address book". Hint: Your delivery address should be your primary address. The next address should be the "billing" address for your credit card, if it is different.

To edit an address, just click on the edit button, enter the information, and press "continue".
To add an address, just click on the "add address" button, enter the information, and press "continue". To set ANY address, as your primary address, click edit, then near the bottom left is a checkbox. Click the checkbox, then click "continue".
If you press "back", you will escape without making any changes.

 

I Lost/Forgot My Password. What Do I Do?
This does happen and is no trouble at all, if you still use the email address you signed up with. Just visit our lost password page! Then enter the email address you signed up with, click on "continue", and we will send you a password! Be sure to put this somewhere safe.
Community memberships are not transferable to shopping memberships and vice versa. You will need to create a membership in each, to participate in both areas.

 

My Password Does Not Work!! What Do I Do?
First, visit the "forgot password" page. Then enter the email address you signed up with, click on "continue", and we will send you a password.
Go immediately to your account center and change the password, when you receive the email. Write it down and keep it safe! Somebody may have found your password and changed it.

I Changed My Email Address, Forgot My Password, And Cannot Sign On! What Do I Do?
If you no longer use the email address you signed up with, please contact customer service. Tell us the old email address, your name, phone number, and address. We will try to assist you.

 

How Do I Change My Password?
This is really easy! Just sign on to your membership and click on "change my account password".  Just enter your old password, once, and enter your new password twice. Then, click on "continue" to submit the change!
