According to Webster, a thurible is a covered vase shaped incense burner, or censer, with perforated holes to allow the smoke to permeate the atmosphere. Some of these have stands, and others have handles or are hanging, allowing them to be carried about. These charcoal censers are great for ceremonial use and a smoky incense effect!

Our brass thurible, is from India, made of shiny polished brass. The best part is that it has a great wooden handle!

These brass thuribles are large and heavy duty, weighing over a pound! These brass burners are very well balanced and heavy, making them much more stable, than many of the smaller incense burners.

Although designed as a charcoal incense burner, these brass pedestals work well with cones, dhoop, and smudge, but even incense sticks can be placed in the holes. When burning charcoal incense, the lid can be turned over and used as the incense screen, OR you can put a layer of sand inside the burner and place your charcoal on that. The choice is yours!

Brass Incense Burner Details:
These brass thuribles are about 7 inches tall, and about 4 inches wide, at the widest part. The entire incense burner is about 11 inches wide, if you include the brass handle. The octagonal base is about 3 1/4 inches wide. The incense burner is made of solid brass with a wooden handle.

On the top of the base, there are about 10-15 holes, each about 1/4" across, and the lid has about 15-18 holes, giving this brass incense burner the much needed air flow necessary to burn incense with the lid in place.

This brass thurible incense burner is great for burning incense over charcoal tablets, using dried herbs, resins, powders, liturgical incense, but you can use it for cones, stick burners, or smudging, too. This incense burner is also great for ritual use and for work like smudging. With a wooden handle, you can easily move this burner, without getting burned. Get your incense burner today!
