Chinese Healthy Balls (or Iron Baoding balls) date all the way back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Cloisonne, is a well-known traditional enamelware also popular in the Ming Dynasty and today. Cloisonne is an elaborate art form, with many stages, including hammering, soldering, enamel-filling, enamel firing, and polishing, even for such small pieces as Chinese health balls.
Eastern medicine says the body is made of energy meridians or pathways. Along the meridians you will find more highly charged energy points, which are called pressure points, that most of us are familiar with in acupuncture and acupressure. This is where the qi is most easily affected.
By stimulating different energy points, energy imbalances may be corrected. These beautiful cloisonne iron balls have been said to stimulate the various acupressure points on the hand, thereby improving the chi (Qi or Ki) or the body's energy paths (life force).
It is believed that exercising with the therapy balls can assist with healing and improve many ailments:
• Prevent & Cure Hypertension-By the repetitiveness
• Relieve fatigue, by improved circulation of Chi/Qi energy
• Tendentious using prior to activities using the hands
• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome-By improving the wrist and hands
• Memory Loss-By improving the circulation of Chi energy
• Arthritis-By keeping the joints limber and movement of Chi
• Stress Reduction-By improving Chi flow and repetitiveness
• Improve general health and circulation through Chi movement.
As you rotate the iron balls in your hand, the vibrations stimulate the various acupressure points of the hand, enhancing the flow of energy, or chi, throughout the entire body.
Also known as Chinese therapy balls and Iron Direction Balls, we think they are really cool, both to look at and to use. Each Chinese iron ball has a sounding plate inside, that chimes when it is shaken. If you are using the balls properly, the balls are supposed to make a sort of whirring sound, smooth and melodious. This has never happened for me (I must not be doing it right), but I like to use them, love the sound, and feel they could be of some help to people with dexterity or motor coordination problems as well as arthritis and computer users. We have sold many sets to people that use them for relaxation and stress relief, arthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
As always, check with your physician or practitioner before starting any new kind of therapy. Some things can aggravate, rather than help :)

Chinese Healthy Balls For Feng Shui
In feng shui, it is the design on the Chinese health balls that makes the difference. By placing the balls in certain sectors of your space, you can enhance the energy of that space, bringing more success, love, health, etc. to the individual, depending on the design/image on the balls.
We have several styles of Chinese health or iron baoding balls, beautifully painted, all with resonant chimes to soothe the mind and spirit. Not all will be useful for feng shui, but we felt it better to group them all together here.
