Feng Shui Red Fan ~ Good Fortune Fans
In translation, Feng Shui literally means “Wind and Water”. In application Feng Shui is an environmental science based on the continuous observations by sages in contemplation of the underlying Principle of the Universe known as Qi*. Qi is the underlying Principle of the Universe, but is difficult to define or explain. Qi is the "Primordial Breath", the ultimate causal vibration.

In Feng Shui, Qi pertains to the influence of Universal energies that come from Heaven, from the eight directions, and from within the Earth. Qi is the influence of cosmic rays, Earths magnetic fields, the nine stars and their inherent influence as it pertains to the Five Elements. The influence of Qi also comes from forms, objects, sound, color, and various other vibrational aspects of the Universe.

Beneficial Qi is referred to as Sheng Qi. Detrimental Qi is referred to as Sha Qi. Although the literal translations of the terms sheng and sha actually refer to birth and death, we view the influences as good and evil.

In feng shui, red is used enhance the yang energy (active energy) of the space or direction. Fans symbolize the circulation of Qi. Red fans may be used to fan in to you the blessings of health, wealth, and good fortune.

This red Chinese New Year fan is made of bamboo and paper. The red fans have Chinese characters, printed in black & trimed in golden yellow, representing wealth, long life, and happiness. In Feng Shui, bamboo is used for growth and strength. The color red is Yang Qi, a color of happiness & passion. Black is a color of dignity & nobility, and Yin Qi. Yellow is a color of harmony, a buffer between the others.

In Feng Shui, each direction of the compass relates to an area of life. The SouthEast is considered the natural direction for wealth and opportunity. In feng shui, Red adds yang energy activating the energy of a space. Hang a red fan in this area of the home, or office, to enhance good fortune.

Red fans may be used as feng shui cures to neutralize "poison arrows" coming from sharp corners.  Dark areas, or areas with stagnant Qi will also benefit from the placement of red fans. This is one red Chinese New Year fan. The red fans measure approximately 10" long x 14" wide (when open) and are made of bamboo & paper. The Feng Shui fan is red, with Chinese characters printed in black & trimmed in yellow. The Chinese characters represent wealth, long life, and happiness. The color yellow is slightly more noticeable than the red fan in the photo. The feng shui red fans come wrapped in tissue paper. Basic feng shui information is included.

Red Fans are great for hanging in the wealth sector or in your romance direction to enhance these areas. The red fans are also great for hanging in areas that get very little light, or for areas where there is stagnant energy. Fans should always be placed in the open position.
