Chinese Healthy Balls (or Iron Baoding balls) date all the way back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). They are used to activate pressure points in the hands, leading to a multitude of health benefits. The balls are hollow and have chiming sounding plates inside. The chiming creates vibrations that help to activate acupressure points and reduce stress. The Dragon & Phoenix Used in Feng Shui ~
In the far East, the Dragon brings wealth and prosperity. The Phoenix brings opportunity and recognition.

Represented in the south, the phoenix is the bringer of great opportunity, it is the mate of the Celestial Dragon. Together the Phoenix and the Celestial Dragon symbolize conjugal happiness. Placed in the southwest, they help to activate marriage luck.
The Phoenix without the Celestial Dragon is also well displayed in the south sector of the office or study to promote new opportunities, success and prosperity.

Cloisonne is an enamelware art form. Basically, the design is laid down in thin metal and the hollows are carefully filled with layers of colorful enamel. The pieces are then fired, buffed, filled again, re fired, buffed, etc., until the piece is complete.

Iron Baoding Ball Details:
These cloisonne health balls come in the Dragon & Phoenix design, that is, there is a Chinese dragon on one ball and a phoenix on the other. Base colors may vary from deep blue, black or green.  The individual balls measure approximately 1 1/2" in diameter.

Each set of Chinese exercise balls comes with 2 balls. Inside each ball is a chiming plate. Each set has a ball with a high tone and a ball with a low tone. They say the chiming is a Yin & Yang thing and part of how the balls have such a relaxing effect on people. You can read more about that here.

Each set of balls comes in a silk brocade box. Each therapy ball box comes in assorted colors, usually red, green, black, or blue. Each set of chiming therapy balls comes with basic instructions for use and brief history of the Chinese Iron Direction Baoding Balls.

As you rotate the iron balls in your hand, the vibrations stimulate the various acupressure points of the hand, enhancing the flow of energy, or chi, throughout the entire body. We have sold many sets to people that use them for relaxation and stress relief, arthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
