Visiting Our "Real Store"
Unfortunately, we closed our doors to the public, due to cancer in the family. Moving the business online allowed the business to survive, even with further illnesses and death. We are hoping to be able to reopen the doors, one day, but it is probably several years down the road.
Who Is Grandpa?
Grandpa was my Grandfather William Orville Harkey. Opening a store was really his idea. He passed away in 1996, just before I started this business. We named it for him. Now, I guess, I (Erin Gjertsen) am really Grandpa, although I am of the feminine persuasion. Sometimes, I feel like "the great and powerful Oz" (just don't look behind the curtain). I run the business pretty much single handedly. A woman who wears many hats.
Common Ordering Questions
We accept online payment in a secure environment by credit card. We presently accept American Express, Visa, & MasterCard credit cards. We will not charge your card until we are ready to pack and ship your order.
We also accept personal checks and money orders. For delivery adresses outside the USA, please visit International Orders.
We understand how vital it is to keep your information safe and secure. Grandpa's uses Comodo, SSL Web Server Certificates, to offer secure communications by encrypting all membership and checkout data. We use secure sockets layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption on all online orders. Comodo has checked and verified our registration documents and registered domain name. This information is included in the SSL certificate that we issue. This enables you to check the site's validity yourself.
Inventory (out of stock)
Most items are in stock. However, if an item is out of stock, a message (in red) will tell you the item is unavailable. If you try to order more than we have on hand, there will be a message showing how many are (at that moment) available. You may still order the item, but it may delay your order.
We try to keep an accurate online inventory, and we do not backorder. If, for some unforeseeable reason, we are unable to ship your entire order, we will contact you as soon as possible with the next available ship date, possible upgrades, or substitutions. All offers are subject to availability.
International Orders - Do You Ship To My Country?
You can see a list of the countries we presently ship to here. If your address is not in the USA or its territories, we suggest you read the entire page, to help make your shopping experience more enjoyable.
When your order ships, you should receive an email shipping alert, with estimated delivery date. Please, contact us if your order does not arrive within 2 days of that date. We will contact the carrier and an investigation will be launched. The sooner you contact us, the better. Each carrier has a different time frame for investigations and we will notify you of that time.
USA orders - If the order cannot be located, we will replace or credit your order, at our discretion. Missing orders are extremely rare (in the USA) and are usually located within a day or two.

Replacement Product Instructions
We have many requests for tarot booklets, sea monkey instructions, etc. Unfortunately, if we do not make the item in question, instructions will need to be sought from the manufacturer.
If your item was shipped (by us) missing instructions, you need to contact us right away! We will try to assist you. If you did not purchase the item from us, please contact the store where you purchased the item.
My Sea Monkeys Died, I Lost Their Food, Or...
We love Sea Monkeys, but have not kept them as pets for several years, so do not feel we have the expertise to tell you how to care for yours. Sea Monkeys do come with a great information booklet, along with an order form for new food, should you run out. Unfortunately, we don't have this information, here.
Fortunately, there are abundant sites online that specialize in Sea Monkeys. They will probably have all the information you need. You can go here, to find Sea Monkey information sites.
Product Measurements, Prices, Etc...
We attempt to put all necessary information online, such as color, measurement, and price. We also put additional information, such as how items are most often used, even a little history for those that are learning about new things. If, after reading the product information, you still cannot find the information you are seeking about the product, please feel free to contact us requesting further information. It will be very helpful to us, if you will include the products item number, as well.
All dimension measurements are in inches and feet, with the exception of crystal balls, which are measured in milimeters. Prices are in US dollars. If you need to convert to your measurements or currency, please visit our international shopping page. Be sure to see if we ship to your country, to avoid disappointment later.
COMMON MAGICAL QUESTIONS
Educational Information/How To
Online, we have basic "how to" for many subjects, such as how to burn different types of incense, choosing candle colors, metaphysical properties of stones, etc. These can be found on our "Learn Stuff" pages and in the "Community" section. Educational resources may also be found in our links section.
Grandpa's offers free online tarot/oracle readings, through our fun stuff pages. However, we do not offer spells, sell spells, read your fortune, etc., privately, or for sale. If you have need for personal readings, we suggest you post your request through our message boards. Just click on the word "community", at the top of this screen to take you there.
Can You Teach Me? Or How Do I Learn...?
I am a seeker, myself, and constantly learning new things, but am ill qualified to teach others at this point. Any educational information we have is already online on our learn stuff pages. We also have an online community dedicated to sharing information and many of your questions may be answered there. We also have educational resources listed on our links pages.
Does Magic Really Work?
Only my "opinion". Yes, most definitely. Just not always the way you might expect... There is an old adage, "be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it". Another is "what goes around, comes around". Be prepared to receive the same energy you put out there... multiplied. Please do not email asking us to tell you how to do magic.
