What is a talking board?

Also known as Spirit boards, Ouija boards, Witch boards, Channeling boards, and more, Talking boards have been around for over 100 years. Most boards have a flat surface with lettering detailed on the surface and a message indicator or "seer ". By placing the fingers lightly on the seer, messages are received from "the beyond" as the message indicator moves from letter to letter.

Cryptique is a spirit board from Salem, Massachusetts. What better place for Cryptique to call home than the location of one of America's most infamous moments, the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Its foreboding imagery captures the eerie atmosphere of a graveyard at midnight, summoning visions of crumbling tombstones, gnarled trees, and the whispers of the long forgotten.

How To Use The Talking Board

Begin by preparing the area in which Cryptique will be summoned. If indoors, dim the lights to reduce surrounding distractions. Remove the Cryptique board and seer from the tomb.

Awaken Cryptique by placing the seer over the words REST IN PEACE. Gently place your fingertips on the seer so that it may move freely across the board. Direct your questions aloud to Cryptique. Soon, the seer will begin to move, pausing on the appropriate letter, number, or word to satisfy each question.

When your session is over, lay Cryptique to rest by sliding the seer over the words REST IN PEACE. Return the board and seer to the tomb. Cryptique will then patiently await your next session. It's the perfect end—whether you're conjuring the dead or just digging up dirt on the boyfriend...

Cryptique Talking Board Details*:
The complete Box measures approximately 18" x 12 1/4" x 1 3/4". The Cryptique divination board, itself, is colored in Prussian blue wood grain with gold lettering, measures about 11.5" by 17.5", and has no folds to interfere with the seer's movement. Letters and numerals are well positioned on the board, for ease of viewing through the seer. The Cryptique talking board comes packaged in a very nice, sturdy box, with instructions and a brief history of the board.

Cryptique includes the game board, message indicator-seer, and instructions. There is also plenty of room in the box for storing a pad and pencil (not included), to record messages received by Cryptique.
