I Ching Coins
Chinese coins with the square hole in the center have been used in feng shui, to represent prosperity and wealth, for a very long time (thousands of years).  The coins are also used for I Ching divination. These brass I Ching coins are replicas of antique Chinese coins. In feng shui, the I Ching coins are used to enhance and represent Wealth & Prosperity, and to bring Good Luck. The coins are also used as feng shui cures to neutralize bad directions, influences, negative chi, and for protection. The square hole is said to represent Earth chi (energy) and the round shape is said to represent Heaven chi. By adding yang energy (active) in the form of a red thread, the coin transforms into a powerful auspicious symbol for wealth & prosperity.

I Ching Coins For Feng Shui Use
The Chinese coin is a symbol of prosperity, and for feng shui, the coins are placed in red envelopes in the money or wealth sector are said to improve prosperity. Another way they can be used is, again, in a red envelope, with one Chinese coin in each of 4 envelopes. Then, place the red envelopes in the four corners of your desk or room, where they will not be noticed by others.

Many people will use 2 red cords (red represents happiness and energy) and string together 6, 5, or 7 I Ching coins and hang the coins vertically or horizontally in corners, main entrances, or any area you wish to uplift and enhance positive chi. Some people will tie the Chinese coins to their telephone, to enhance prosperity through business done on the phone. They may wear a Chinese coin threaded with a red cord, as an amulet around the neck, to increase luck and prosperity. A Chinese coin may also be worn, carried, or hung in the home, as an amulet for protection.

Feng Shui Wealth Direction
In Feng Shui, each direction of the compass relates to an area of life. If you know your personal wealth direction, by all means use it to place your Chinese coins.  If you do not know your personal wealth direction, don't give it another thought. The SouthEast is considered the natural direction for wealth and opportunity and the I Ching coins may be placed in this area of the home, or office, to enhance good fortune as well.

I Ching Coins For Divination
In I-Ching divination, the Chinese coins are simply tossed and depending what side comes up, the outcome dictates a line in an I-ching hexagram(6 lines). Each line has meaning and when all six are laid out, you simply look up the hexagram in the I Ching or "the book of changes" (not included). The total of the hexagram tells the answer to the question at the moment.  After purchase, the I Ching coins can be cleansed before use, by polishing, or by boiling in very LIGHTLY salted water. You can then store them in a small satin pouch, to protect them from outside energies.

THIS IS A SET OF SIX (6) CHINESE COINS. They are antique reproductions of Chinese coins with square holes in the middle. Our I Ching coins are brass and measure about 7/8" in diameter. The coins come as a set of 6, in a plastic bag with a paper label. Some basic feng shui and I Ching information is included on the back of the label. The photo, to the left, shows the yin and yang side to the coins.
