The Meaning Of The Celtic Horse
Animals in Celtic and Welsh mythology are tied in with fertility and vitality, because they are living, moving, and growing. They also provide vitality and continued life for the tribes through their meat, skins, and bones. In addition, they are a connection to the realm of spirits and the gods. This connection is seen through their use in the hunt, search for secrets and wisdom. Celtic horses represented fertility.

This Celtic Horse design is a unique blend of horses and Celtic knots. The center of the tapestry is a mandala of 3 horses, intertwined in Celtic knotwork. The celtic knot is a never ending knot, a symbol of the never ending eternal circle of life- the knotwork has neither a beginning nor an end and is often associated with protection and love, as well as life. This tapestry is black on OFF white, with greenish/gray accents. The pattern is 3 Celtic horses in the center of the mandala, with a Celtic knot and horse border around the circle, as well. The center horse mandala is surrounded by squares of Celtic knots, extending all the way out to the border. The tapestry border is actually many smaller Celtic Horse mandalas, side by side.

Our Celtic horse tapestry is 72" x 108" (6 ft x 9 ft) before hemming and washing. The finished size is about: 70"x 106". All of our Celtic tapestries are made in India and can vary, ever so slightly from piece to piece. This tapestry is OFF White and black, with dark green accents. It is made in India, of 100% cotton. Hand wash in cold water.

PLEASE NOTE: Made in India, the size or color of the White tapestry can vary, ever so slightly from piece to piece. The sizes are fairly consistent but could vary just an inch or two. Therefore, they could be 1-2" smaller but they cannot be larger.
