Grandpa's Magical Incense Recipes How To Make A Magical Incense An Incense In Honor Of Eros This is not a simple incense, as you will have to do a little research on possible substitutes for ingredients, but I still think it would be very interesting to try. This incense recipe came from an ancient magic rite that was intended to bend the will of woman and "make" her love the man performing the rite. The incense was intended as a burnt offering to Eros, in the hopes that Eros would help the man to gain the affections of the woman. As I do not agree with bending the will of anyone, I don't include the rite, and please, don't ask. The incense might very well be used, though, to ask Eros to help "bring a love, that is right for you" into your life, or to bring more love and passion into an already existing relationship, if it is the will of your partner. It would also be excellent for consecrating a statue or symbol to Eros. It is up to the individual to invoke Eros in the way that they see fit, and make any requests. I have changed the quantities from drams to portions of ounces, for easier measuring by most readers. All items should be finely ground, before being added to the mixture. 1/2 oz. Manna* 1/2 oz. opium*** 1/16 oz. Frankincense 1/2 oz. Storax 1/2 oz. Myrrh 1/16 oz. Saffron Mix the above ingredients together, visualizing, as you blend. Mix in equal parts of dried fig and fragrant wine, I wouldn't think more than about teaspoon, or so, of each, would be required. This is something you can judge for yourself. If it is too wet, it will not smolder. Then blend all the ingredients together, visualizing and adding your own energy, as you blend. The result is burnt as an offering to Eros, god of love. ***Opium is a narcotic, toxic, and is illegal in the USA. A proper non-toxic substitute should be used. It is only listed here, for historic reference. * Manna is sold in the USA under the name Mannite or Mannitol. It's main use is as a baby laxative, and as a flavor enhancer for other medications. The name changed from manna to mannite, somewhere in the early 1900's. You would like to make sure that this is not adulterated with any other kinds of sugars, or starch. If you have access to a flowering tree that exudes manna(see below), that would be ideal. It should be a tree that relates to love or Eros, in particular. -The Manna of the biblical narrative answers otherwise in its description to the Tamarisk Manna, exuded in June and July from the slender branches of Tamarisk gallica, var. mannifera. ---Definition of Manna in Italy---An Italian Decree-law, dated August 12, 1927, dealing with the repression of fraud and adulteration in the preparation and trade in substances of vegetable origin, states that the name 'Manna' is reserved for the product obtained by incision into the cortex of the flowering or Manna Ash (F. ornus or F. excelsior). Every piece of literature we can locate on manna, including medieval, says it exudes from different trees (ash, oak, alhagi, larix, etc.) If anyone has information on appropriate opium substitutes, or a particularly suitable manna tree, please email me. We will be adding many more recipes for blended magickal incense, shortly. Keep checking back! |
